What is China UnionPay

China UnionPay (中国银联) also known as UnionPay or CUP is the only domestic bankcard assocation in People’s Republic of China (PRC) which was founded in March 2002, with its headquarters in Shanghai. It is also the only interbank network in China (exclude Hong Kong and Macau), linking the ATMs of some major banks as well as smaller banks throughout mainland China.
